Gift Voucher Film Case Study
I worked closely with the creative agency Feel Good Films to conceptualise, plan, and execute a marketing film designed to promote Go Ape's gift vouchers. The goal of the film was to showcase the emotional journey of giving and receiving a Go Ape adventure, highlighting the joy and excitement that comes with gifting an unforgettable experience.
The narrative followed a parent purchasing a gift voucher from home, followed by the recipient—her young daughter—receiving the voucher through the post. The story culminates in the mother and daughter enjoying the adventure together on the high ropes course at Go Ape. The concept aimed to convey the excitement, bonding, and fun that the Go Ape experience offers, making the gift voucher feel like more than just a present, but an opportunity for adventure and connection.
I played a key role in the creative development of the film. I wrote the script, developed a detailed shot list, and created a full storyboard to guide the production team on the day of the shoot. I was also present on set, directing the action to ensure the narrative was clearly communicated and that the emotional tone of the film resonated with the audience. Additionally, I worked closely with Feel Good Films during the editing process, providing feedback to ensure the final cut aligned with the original vision.
The film was a great success, driving increased traffic to the website through both paid advertising and organic social media sharing. The engaging, heartwarming narrative and high-quality production helped position Go Ape’s gift vouchers as the perfect gift for families looking to create lasting memories together.
